Have you ever wondered “what essential oils can my
dog have or what are some of them?” but you cant
find the answer to this question that makes you feel
confident? I know of a few and some I have tested
myself which I will mention later. Now I know you
may be wondering “how do I know Who to listen to?
some say an oil is toxic while the other says its not.
I don’t want to hurt my dog.” I know because that is
how I felt when I was researching myself. There are
some that I know are not toxic to dogs, that I use all the
time when my dog needs them. But know I finally Know.
Yes your dogs can have essential oils! after researching and
talking to Doterra I have found out that your dogs can
absolutely have essential oils! Now if you are still concerned
because your dog has allergies to certain things you can all
ways contact your vet and ask. I am
so excited to share this with you because now I and anyone
else who was wondering out there can finally feel at ease
when using essential oils on your dogs or any other animals of yours!
have you had great results and experience using essential
oils on your animals? I would love to hear about them in the
comments below!
Below I have listed some great essential oils and what I use them for
and I hope they help you as they have also helped me!
Peppermint
peppermint has a cooling affect that can be used on
many things. The salve that I use, I also use for my dog.
It has peppermint in it and we use it all the time,
even mixing it with charcoal for snake bites on our dogs,
which works really well, my mother makes and sells it in our ranch store, I would add a link but it is out of stock right now.
Cedarwood
cedarwood is really good for the skin and can help with
skin conditions, and reduce dandruff.
Cypress
I use cypress generally when my dog gets a cut it helps
it heal faster. I would say when using oils on dogs you
definitely want to tone them down with salve or a carrier
oil so you don’t burn your dogs skin.
Lavender
I use Lavender essential oil if my dog is worked up or if
I want to calm her down.
Revive Immunity Boost
I used this essential oil on my dog when she had her first litter of puppies, she was a little swollen, and I was concerned about mastitis so I put this oil on her with some salve and it helped clear it right up.
Roman Chamomile
I use Roman Chamomile for dandruff too because it is good
for skin conditions. It has also been used to treat Parvo
in dogs using roman chamomile tea but I would guess that the
essential oil works good too.
