Dusting Mist Or Polish Recipe

Have you ever gotten busy cleaning your house, just to be stopped in the middle Because you ran out of a cleaner? I definitely feel you, because I have been there before, and at times it can be very frustrating!

You where cleaning and everything was running smoothly, you where probably making good time too, up until you ran out. But don’t worry there is almost always a way to make your own cleaner, without having to go to the Store. And yes it is nice to buy cleaners, and not have to make them all the time,
but you have to have cleaners to clean. And it can be fun too!

Cleaning is so much easier when you have the right cleaners on hand and some paper towels, and yes sometimes cleaning can use up a lot of them but, for me, it is well worth it. I can always get the cleaning done faster when I have some paper towels. This wood polish recipe works well on wood furniture. It also works well on wood floors, if your wood floor is getting dry, just lightly mist the floor and mop as usual. It has the right combination of oil that it leaves your wood floor looking nice, without leaving a greasy film.

One of the best parts about making your own cleaners, is that you can scent it how ever you want, with what ever essential oil you want, and even do some experimenting on a combination of scents! Some like a stronger scent, and others like it to be more lightly scented, but the choice is yours, because there is no right or wrong way to do it!

A little Tip: If you have an extra dirty area you are dusting, then add a few drops of lemon essential oil to your spray for a natural disinfectant in your cleaner.

I put together the recipe below, I hope you enjoy! I would love to here from you in the comments too!

How To Make Seltzer Or Sparkling Water Soda

Sometimes in the Spring and summer after you have been working…

all day, or maybe on the week end its nice to be able to enjoy the sunshine with something to drink while relaxing with a little alone time, or maybe you are catching up with some family or friends. If you are not living in town, and don’t want to go anywhere to buy something to drink, or you just want to make your own there are actually many options, one of my favorites is club soda, it is easy to make and doesn’t take up much time so you are not spending most of your day(or afternoon) making something nice to drink. If you make the syrup ahead of time or you make extra to save for later than this recipe is even quicker and easier to make.  Honestly I enjoy this drink almost year around!

This Recipe turns out amazing when you use dark brown sugar, (as I will mention in my tips below.)  its brown color resembles the color of an iced coffee. I know it sounds kind of weird but I recently had brown sugar out while I was making my drink, and thought, well its worth a try. I knew there was a good chance of it turning out to have a strong molasses flavor, and it might not also mix well with Lemon, but I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. Turns out that brown sugar was a definite flavor my drink was missing, and to top it off none of my assumptions of it not working where correct! The brown sugar by far does not overpower the lemon flavor.
If you want to know about my speedy version of this recipe for when you are in a hurry, it is waiting at the bottom of this post

Natural Club Soda Recipe

servings: 1 (syrup serves 4.5)
INGREDIENTS:

1 1/4 cup Club soda, or seltzer water
3 – 4 T  Flavored syrup depending on preference
1/2 cup of ice or more according to preference
a glass cup ( I like to use a pint and a half mason jar)
straw
1/4 cup 1/2 & 1/2, milk, or Cream

Syrup Recipe:
~ 2 tsp extract, 2 cups fruit, or 35 drops essential oil ( my favorite is lemon!)
~ 1 tsp vanilla extract
~ 1 cup sugar
~ 1 cup water (if using fruit then use 1/2 cup water)
Directions:
For Fruit: Take fresh fruit (if using frozen then thaw first) and mash it in a bowl, then pour juice off into a pan. Then add the water and sugar. Bring to a boil stir constantly through all stages Then boil for 4 min. Take off of burner and let cool, once cooled add the vanilla extract. store in your fridge.
For extract or essential oil:  Add the sugar, and water in sauce pan, bring to a boil, and stir constantly, once boiling, boil for 4 min. Take off of burner and let cool. Once cooled add the flavor and vanilla extract. Stir and store in fridge.

Directions:
First add your syrup to your glass, then add the ice, club soda, and milk. I like to do it in that order, so that some of the milk doesn’t freeze on the ice. Add your straw stir, and enjoy!

Tips:
~ For more flavor and a more fun drink replace the sugar with light or dark brown sugar. I tried this with dark brown sugar in my Lemon flavored version and it was delicious!

~ I like to add half and half or cream. These can also be replaced with whole milk, it isn’t as good but still delicious!
~ for a little more color you can add natural food coloring to your syrup. And proceed as normal.

A little secret I do when I am especially in a hurry or don’t want to waste time making syrup

~ when in a hurry I like to add 2- 3 tsp of sugar  to my cup and some hot tap water, then swirl quickly until dissolved. Then I add a tiny splash vanilla, and lemon essential oil (15 drops or more depending on how strong a flavor you prefer), from there I stir, and add the ice, club soda ( I have a cheap soda maker that I much prefer over buying club soda), and the milk. stir and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this recipe, I would love to hear from you in the commments!

Can Dogs have essential oils?

Have you ever wondered “what essential oils can my
dog have or what are some of them?” but you cant
find the answer to this question that makes you feel
confident? I know of a few and some I have tested
myself which I  will mention later. Now I know you
may be wondering “how do I know Who to listen to?
some say an oil is toxic while the other says its not.
I don’t want to hurt my dog.” I know because that is
how I felt when I was researching myself. There are
some that I know are not toxic to dogs, that I use all the
time when my dog needs them. But know I finally Know.

Yes your dogs can have essential oils! after researching and
talking to Doterra I have found out that your dogs can
absolutely have essential oils! Now if you are still concerned
because your dog has allergies to certain things you can all
ways contact your vet and ask. I am
so excited to share this with you because now I and anyone
else who was wondering out there can finally feel at ease
when using essential oils on your dogs or any other animals of yours!
have you had great results and experience using essential
oils on your animals? I would love to hear about them in the
comments below!
Below I have listed some great essential oils and what I use them for
and I hope they help you as they have also helped me!
Peppermint
peppermint has a cooling affect that can be used on
many things. The salve that I use, I also use for my dog.
It has peppermint in it and we use it all the time,
even mixing it with charcoal for snake bites on our dogs,
which works really well, my mother makes and sells it in our ranch store, I would add a link but it is out of stock right now.
Cedarwood
cedarwood is really good for the skin and can help with
skin conditions, and reduce dandruff.
Cypress
I use cypress generally when my dog gets a cut it helps
it heal faster. I would say when using oils on dogs you
definitely want to tone them down with salve or a carrier
oil so you don’t burn your dogs skin.
Lavender
I use Lavender essential oil if my dog is worked up or if
I want to calm her down.
Revive Immunity Boost
I used this essential oil on my dog when she had her first litter of puppies, she was a little swollen, and I was concerned about mastitis so I put this oil on her with some salve and it helped clear it right up.

Roman Chamomile
I use Roman Chamomile for dandruff too because it is good
for skin conditions. It has also been used to treat Parvo
in dogs using roman chamomile tea but I would guess that the
essential oil works good too.
